Easter brunch. (photo overload)

We had our families over for a potluck brunch to celebrate Easter and spring all together.  It was so fun to be together and give thanks.  The kids hunted for eggs, we celebrated our dear cousin Teal's 12th birthday and the girls were loved on all day long.  We all crashed at the end of the day and are just now, a week later recouping.  But it was so fun and we love having space to host in our new home.  We are nearing one year at the start of June.  It's really hard to believe it's been a year.  And at the same time it really feels like home.  We hope you all had a Happy Easter and shared the day with those you love.

Easter at home.

Home-brewed morning coffee, a lemon tart and scrambled eggs.  Just us four, Easter baskets being shared and memories in the making.  Continuing traditions our families started and creating new ones.  These are some of my favorite moments.  And I was so excited about matching Easter dresses for my Remy's first Easter.  Chloe was equally excited because she loves the idea of sharing everything with her little sister.  I'm sure that one won't be a constant.  But for no I'm loving the ease of their new relationship.

And they became sisters.

Everything people say is true, seeing my girls meet for the first time was a new kind of joy.  Chloe's quiet, calm entrance to our birth room made me realize she knew what a big moment this was.  And then she climbed into my lap and I felt at home again.  Us four all together.

Baking away.

It's been a busy 7 weeks since we moved to California.  We've been catching up with family and friends, on our in between time unpacking and nesting our hearts out.  With a new (first) home and Kevin's handsome office to settle into we've been busy.  And I've been really putting Kevin to work with all the things I can't lift, hang or move.  He is such a sport and things are coming together pretty fast.  Which is great since I'm at week 38 of pregnancy.  And naturally I want everything in place "yesterday" in case baby sister decides to make her appearance early.  Let's hope it's a little sooner than her big sister who arrived at 41weeks and 5days.  Especially since I already feel like a mad woman, between hormones and uncomfortable.  But I remind myself daily that this baby girl is the VERY best reason to feel uncomfortable, moody and just plain antsy.

This pregnancy has flown by and I feel like I'm pinching myself daily that we will have a baby in the house again in a matter of days/weeks.  And I'll be the mama of two girls.  I keep hearing myself say,"the girls" and it is so surreal.  It's gonna be a whole lot of excitement around the Locklin house very soon.  I can't wait to see how the weeks unfold and watch our family grow into four.

I have a feeling it's gonna be all kinds of magic seeing my girls together for the first time.

P.S. I have a plan to give this here blog lots more love in the future.  Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
Last week.  37 weeks along.  Yep, full term, baby.

Easter 2013.

We made a quick trip to Temecula, CA to spend the weekend with our families for Easter.  Like usual we kept busy and saw as many people as the time would allow.  I'm looking forward to having lots of time to spend with family in the months to come.  It's tricky to see everyone and inevitably it means our sleep routine gets really all out of whack.  It's so worth it though.

The weekend was filled with Easter eggs, sugar-overloads and feasting with loved ones.  Chloe was so excited about the egg hunts (yes we had two).  It was so fun to see her really enjoy the holiday and I look forward to seeing her zealous grow as she is more aware of all the magic and fun that holidays hold.  I'm a huge lover of tradition and family time.  So I can't wait to be settled into our home and create our own traditions as our family grows.

Chloe was completely spoiled with love and affection and lots of special treats.  Here are a few highlights from the weekend.

Chloe called this her "Princess Easter Dress".

And that was all before 11am.  Then we took a brief nap before party numero dos at Kevin's parents house.
Chloe and cousin Teal hunting for eggs.

She's declared that her favorite color is pink.  Can you tell?

While the little ones hunted for eggs the rest of the family enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather.  Can we say high 70's with a beautiful breeze.  I love California weather.  I wish I got more photos of the decor.  My mother-in-law did a beautiful job with the decorations and food, every room was springy and festive.  What a great day with family!
