thankful.

chloe elizabeth, 8 weeks (already?)
as each day passes i'm filled with more thankful feelings for the wonderful life that i have.  sure it can be trying at times, especially as i'm learning the ropes as a new mom.  and some days feel like hours spent on the flying trapeze.  but the amount of love i feel for our little girl seems to spill over.  i haven't words to describe what i feel when i look into her sweet, beautiful, blue eyes; thankful doesn't seem to come close.

birthday wishes to a beauty.

to my dear sista sista.  wishing you a truly beautiful year ahead.  days filled with wonder, excitement, adventure, love and laughter.  may you see your true beauty more and more everyday, the way i see it; bold and bright.

we love you tia loca!  k, l & c

first visit to the beach.

when clo was just 12 days old we attended our doula becky daughter's first birthday.  the party was at salt creek beach in dana point.  if you've never been, it's one of the prettiest beaches around.  and the birthday girl amelie's french fete was so much fun!  the set-up and food was not only adorable but delicious!  thanks for inviting us to your party ami!  her first visit to the beach is a big event, especially daddy's favorite beach, so i thought it deserved a post.  i can't wait until we can get down in the sand and play.  many more beach pictures to follow in the months and years ahead.

bedtime stories. book drive.

another reason i love this store...bedtime stories reading hour and book drive at anthropologie.  if you're in california check out the link below for participating stores, if elsewhere check their website for more details.  even though chloe is a little young, we're gonna check it out for sure.  and bring a book or two to donate.  every child should have books to read.

any local moms who wanna join me at reading time, let me know.

in honor of the mo.

check out kevin's movember mens cancer awareness and fundraising page.  http://us.movember.com/mospace/755616/

i'm so proud of kevin's positive outlook through this summers trial.  he certainly helped me keep my head on straight while he was undergoing chemotherapy and my baby hormones were really flowing.  we are so happy to have treatment behond us and i'm so proud of his support of movember.

his mo is coming in pretty thick and i'm a little afraid of the tom selleck look he's going for.  i'm all for the cause but just not sure i'm prepared to wake up next to this...

sorry tom!

eye candy.

with a new babe in the house, the last thing i have time (or money) for is shopping.  at least for anything other than diapers and groceries.  it'll be a while before my pre-pregnancy clothes fit again and my maternity wardrobe is pretty unenticing after wearing it for 10 months.  for the time being i'm trying to get creative with what i've got.  and when i feel like i need a little inspiration to spice things up, i look to my tried and true store, anthropologie.  they always are chock full of beautiful imagery, patterns and adorable goods.  just when i think they couldn't have anything more lovely, they surprise me again.  here is the eye candy i found for the week.  i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.  and wouldn't chloe be adorable in that butterfly headband?  i'll have to keep it in mind for christmas this year.

six weeks.

well, it's hard to believe that seven weeks have passed since chloe was born.  i took these pictures last week, when she was six weeks old...already another week flew by before i had a minute to post them.  she's growing so much already and never stops moving her arms, hands and legs.  it is so fun to watch her kick and kick and kick.  at her 6 week pediatric appointment she weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces (50% percentile) and was 22 inches long (75% percentile).  it looks like she may have gotten some height from her dad.

a wise choice.

a spoooky night.

we spent the morning of chloe's first halloween at home with lattes. we were recovering from very little sleep the night before.  if we look tired, it's because we are.  in the afternoon we met the russos and wades and walked to main street to trick or treat.  it was great to see all the kids dressed up and catch up with friends.  on the walk back we saw lots of spooky decorations and one haunted house that i was so happy we didn't visit. we got chloe to sleep early (hallelujah) and caught up on our favorite show, the office and then off to bed.

movember.

the month of movember (formerly referred to as november) is dedicated to growing mustaches all month long to raise awareness and funds for mens cancer research.

our good friend brian has had a pretty great stache in the past and he is bringing it back in honor of kevin this movember.  he got us started in supporting the cause.  though i personally can't grow a mustache, i joined the team too as a sista in support.  we'd love it if you'd join in, grow a fancy stache of your own or spread the word.  check out the links below.

thanks brian for getting the team going, you're the best!
