a few minutes...

...completely alone.  kevin went out to pick up our stocking stuffers with chloe.  i may still have a cold but i plan on relishing in a few hours to relax before the holidays begin.

the plan:
a long hot shower, dancing around the house to some loud music & then peacefully sipping some warm cocoa by the tree.  perhaps a half hour of sleep.  you can tell i'm a new mom if i have "a plan" for my free time.  i better hurry up and start relaxing...

thanks hunny!

packing it all up.

just a little reminder (for myself really) as i pack up almost the whole house to leave for the holidays...only one week away from home,  do i need to bring everything in the nursery?

magical daydreams

since becoming a mother the one thing i really miss is having the time to work on my art & craft (okay, i yearn for sleep too).  really until she's older and we can work on things together, i have teeny little bits of time that i usually use to clean up the house, make phone calls or take a nap.   this mom came up with the perfect way to be creative and still take good care of the little one.  i'm starting to get ideas of my own...we'll see if i can get creative on 4 hours of sleep.  i thought this image was perfect for this weeks rainstorms.

i love these two

this weather is perfect for lazy days at home with a newborn.  though in about a day or two i'll really be itching to get outdoors.  i miss our walks and the fresh beach air.  tonight, though i'm exhausted from one teeny, tiny, bouncy little girl, i'm so content to just cozy up on the sofa with these two.  (and hope that this sore throat is just passing through.)

anyone else super excited about christmas?  we are!

it's almost here.

this christmas means so much more to me than any other i've celebrated yet.  the joy of watching our beautiful little girl grow and snuggling her to pieces.  an incredibly loving and healthy husband by my side.  somedays i'm so tired especially as i learn all it takes to be a mama but i can't help but feel so LUCKY to have them.

with christmas a week away.  i'm happy to be done with our decorating, shopping and wrapping (almost).  now just got to get those christmas cards in the mail...we're a little behind on that.  sunday we'll celebrate just us three with a cozy night in before heading to temecula for the festivites.  the plan: a holiday meal cooked by moi; our first served on our wedding china.  accompanied by a warm fire, a cup of cocoa and some christmas jingles.

here is a sneak preview of our christmas pictures taken by my dear friend, photographer roxana lopez.   this girl is super talented.

movember success.

together kevin and i fund-raised (is that a word?)  $895 buckaroos for the livestrong and the prostate cancer foundation.  we hope it will make a dent in research to help change the face of men's health.

thank you all for your support!

here is chloe representing and supporting her daddy in the cause.

a new favorite.

a little sparkle

we have so much to be thankful for.  most days when i really reflect, i realize that i am blessed beyond what i could have imagined.
this thanksgiving we celebrated with an amazing feast prepared by the whole family and generously hosted by kevin's parents.

here are a few favorites of chloe on her first thanksgiving.  she sure did get a lot of attention that day.  she loved being snuggled and passed around the family.  she even napped for about two hours in the moby with grandpa bergman.  he was delighted!  and check out the shots of snuck of kevin and our little bloom; you can't pose these kinds of moments.  i'm not sure which one is more in love?  more pictures of the whole family coming soon.

okay and i couldn't resist a little sparkle with this adorable sweater dress.  i wish it came in my size too.

thankful.

chloe elizabeth, 8 weeks (already?)
as each day passes i'm filled with more thankful feelings for the wonderful life that i have.  sure it can be trying at times, especially as i'm learning the ropes as a new mom.  and some days feel like hours spent on the flying trapeze.  but the amount of love i feel for our little girl seems to spill over.  i haven't words to describe what i feel when i look into her sweet, beautiful, blue eyes; thankful doesn't seem to come close.

birthday wishes to a beauty.

to my dear sista sista.  wishing you a truly beautiful year ahead.  days filled with wonder, excitement, adventure, love and laughter.  may you see your true beauty more and more everyday, the way i see it; bold and bright.

we love you tia loca!  k, l & c

night owl.

first visit to the beach.

when clo was just 12 days old we attended our doula becky daughter's first birthday.  the party was at salt creek beach in dana point.  if you've never been, it's one of the prettiest beaches around.  and the birthday girl amelie's french fete was so much fun!  the set-up and food was not only adorable but delicious!  thanks for inviting us to your party ami!  her first visit to the beach is a big event, especially daddy's favorite beach, so i thought it deserved a post.  i can't wait until we can get down in the sand and play.  many more beach pictures to follow in the months and years ahead.

bedtime stories. book drive.

another reason i love this store...bedtime stories reading hour and book drive at anthropologie.  if you're in california check out the link below for participating stores, if elsewhere check their website for more details.  even though chloe is a little young, we're gonna check it out for sure.  and bring a book or two to donate.  every child should have books to read.

in honor of the mo.

check out kevin's movember mens cancer awareness and fundraising page.  http://us.movember.com/mospace/755616/

i'm so proud of kevin's positive outlook through this summers trial.  he certainly helped me keep my head on straight while he was undergoing chemotherapy and my baby hormones were really flowing.  we are so happy to have treatment behond us and i'm so proud of his support of movember.

his mo is coming in pretty thick and i'm a little afraid of the tom selleck look he's going for.  i'm all for the cause but just not sure i'm prepared to wake up next to this...

sorry tom!

eye candy.

with a new babe in the house, the last thing i have time (or money) for is shopping.  at least for anything other than diapers and groceries.  it'll be a while before my pre-pregnancy clothes fit again and my maternity wardrobe is pretty unenticing after wearing it for 10 months.  for the time being i'm trying to get creative with what i've got.  and when i feel like i need a little inspiration to spice things up, i look to my tried and true store, anthropologie.  they always are chock full of beautiful imagery, patterns and adorable goods.  just when i think they couldn't have anything more lovely, they surprise me again.  here is the eye candy i found for the week.  i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.  and wouldn't chloe be adorable in that butterfly headband?  i'll have to keep it in mind for christmas this year.

six weeks.

well, it's hard to believe that seven weeks have passed since chloe was born.  i took these pictures last week, when she was six weeks old...already another week flew by before i had a minute to post them.  she's growing so much already and never stops moving her arms, hands and legs.  it is so fun to watch her kick and kick and kick.  at her 6 week pediatric appointment she weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces (50% percentile) and was 22 inches long (75% percentile).  it looks like she may have gotten some height from her dad.

a wise choice.

a spoooky night.

we spent the morning of chloe's first halloween at home with lattes. we were recovering from very little sleep the night before.  if we look tired, it's because we are.  in the afternoon we met the russos and wades and walked to main street to trick or treat.  it was great to see all the kids dressed up and catch up with friends.  on the walk back we saw lots of spooky decorations and one haunted house that i was so happy we didn't visit. we got chloe to sleep early (hallelujah) and caught up on our favorite show, the office and then off to bed.

movember.

the month of movember (formerly referred to as november) is dedicated to growing mustaches all month long to raise awareness and funds for mens cancer research.

our good friend brian has had a pretty great stache in the past and he is bringing it back in honor of kevin this movember.  he got us started in supporting the cause.  though i personally can't grow a mustache, i joined the team too as a sista in support.  we'd love it if you'd join in, grow a fancy stache of your own or spread the word.  check out the links below.

thanks brian for getting the team going, you're the best!

check out my movember team page:

the beneficiaries of all donations go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Livestrong
happy movember!

winter boots.

i wish i had a pair like these.  yet, somehow i doubt i'd be quite as cute as clo is.  she's already built up quite the shoe collection.  these were a gift from our friend roxana a.k.a. lovely lump.

playdate.

after chloe's playdate with these two cuties we came home to a pitch dark house.  kevin was at class for the evening and chloe and i were at home with a power outage.  good thing i always have a healthy stash of candles on hand.  i guess it worked out to my advantage too, chloe napped and so did i.  it was a couple hours of bliss.  when needed i changed diapers by candlelight, pretty funny experience.

earlier that day we had so much fun at julie's house.  julie, yadira and i ate lunch, laughed  and cried together as we shared birth stories and talked about being new moms.  (we were all in the same hypnobabies birth class together.)  the babies took turns fussing, crying and sleeping.  it'll be so fun to see them all together when they can really play together.  but for now, aren't they all so adorable and tiny?

chloe was born on the 21st of september, alyssa the 11th and dorian the 14th.  i think they'll grow up to be great friends.

farm fresh.

we always look forward to the start of fall and visiting the pumpkin patch.  i think we've found our go to patch from now on.  tanaka farms in irvine is a 30 acre farm that grows everything from green beans, strawberries and pumpkins.  i think we'll even pick up our christmas tree there this year.

it's so nice to have some wide open space and see everyone get into the season.  the extra treat was, my dear friend gina was in town for the weekend to meet chloe.  we were so happy to all go together.  chloe slept in the moby wrap the whole time we were there and even through lunch but i'm sure next year will be a lot more active.
