lazy weekend.

the perfect lazy weekend around the house.  i woke up and found these two snuggled on the couch watching sports. then we bundled up for a walk on the beach with our friends the morgans and favorite dog lucy.  we made it inside just before it really got raining.
 
later that weekend...a trip to ikea, french onion soup and some nursery organization.  how did chloe outgrow so many clothes already? 

a little sniffley.

after the holidays chloe came down with a sniffle and cold (her first ever) which meant a couple days spent around the house in our jammies.  and lots of naps too.

as usual she managed to kick and scoot around so much in her sleeper that the blankets were strewn about.

our little lady is almost double her birth weight (6lbs. 12oz.), she smiles, giggles, rolls over both ways (look out) and has a lot so fun trying to scoot around in circles when on her quilt.  let's just say i better get back in shape quickly so i can chase her around the house.  it's so fun to watch her develop but can she stay small for a little while?  here are a couple pictures of her over the holidays...her grandma mimi got her this hat, pretty cute huh?

fyi- we'll know her actual stats after her pediatric appointment thursday.

stadium-pga west.

i have very little golf knowledge but from what i hear this course is a big deal.  kevin's brother matt surprised his dad and kevin who both have december birthdays with a round out on the stadium pga west course in la quinta.

it was so fun to watch them get excited about their round and hit up the driving range to brush up on the their skills.  the course was challenging but they had so much fun being together and checking out the amazing scenery and memorabilia in the clubhouse.

the one thing kevin mentioned he wanted for his birthday was to play golf with his dad and brother...matt you must have read his mind, what a wonderful gift!

ring in the new year.

we spent new years eve with celebrating with our friends the morgan's at their home here in huntington beach.  it was a casual yet classy event with all kinds of fantastic homemade appetizers, a beer tasting and an amazing build-your-own whoopie pie station.  my favorite combo was banana (with chocolate cream of course).  the night was extra special because we got to our friend's brent and katie's new daughter alexa (lexi) danielle for the first time.  she's just three weeks old, cute as a button and light as a feather.  i can't believe chloe's so much bigger already.  those two are gonna have so much fun together int he coming years.  the two girls were decked out in sparkle and ruffles.  it was pretty sweet to see their dad's (both engineers and usc roomates) sharing stories and tips about being new dads.  thank you chris and lisa for the wonderful night.  we were so happy that after a short nap, chloe even made it until midnight!

it will indeed be a happy new year!

happy birthday daddy!

this was our first year to celebrate kevin's birthday with chloe.  she made the day extra special with some morning snuggles at the indio timeshare where we spent 4 days following christmas with the locklin family.  born on the 27th of december, kevin usually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to celebrating.  so we made the night extra special with lots of decorations, red velvet cake and a barbecue feast fit for a king.  it was a wonderful time to celebrate the most important man in my life.  happy birthday kevin, you are a wonderful husband & daddy to chloe!  next year is the big 3-Oh!  I'm already making plans for an extra special celebration!

on christmas day we made a quick stop by my cousin warren and wendy's house in wildomar to enjoy a few hours with the family.  we wished we could stay longer but had a great time catching up with our cousins and chloe was not lacking for attention spending most of the time in her great grandma's arms.  my grandparents were nothing but smiles with their grand children and greats by their side.  as usual the decorations were over-the-top gorgeous and so creative.  the funnest part, my cousin warren does all of them himself.  now what man do you know that does the holiday decorating?  there are some strong creative genes in this family.  i'd love to have him decorate our place one year.
